The foundation of a calm heart, balanced perspective and quiet mind is your thoughts. Fight not against the action of others but against the runaway interpretations and perceptions of your mind. Your thoughts define who you see yourself as being. What you are is undefinable in terms of the cosmic and universal, as it fluctuates and evolves moment to moment and day to day based on the context you are in and the stimulus you are exposed to. But who you think you are is definable. Our thoughts married to our perception are the developers of this sometimes fragile and fluctuating definition/self creation, alias the ego.
